I gain my inspiration from the environment around me and the things that exist within that environment. I am continually amazed by the things that are hidden within the day to day or masked by the obvious. It only takes a single unexpected thing to remove the staleness of normality and provide the revelation of the new.
Those looking for inspiration in others work please take the time to research the photographs of David Herod and the sculptures of Chris Booth, both of these people have had a direct impact on my work and they cannot be too highly recommended.
David Herod produces fine art monochrome photographs, you can see some of his work on his web site at www.davidherrod.co.uk and I would highly recommend his book 'Waters of Cumbria'.
Chris Booth produces the most amazing sculptures, they are impressive to see and are perfectly in tune with their environment. Go and see some you will not regret it. If you cannot see his work in the flesh (and even if you can), then visit his web site at chrisbooth.co.nz and buy the book 'Chris Booth: Sculpture in Europe, Australia and New Zealand’ it is money very well spent.
